In March 2017, after much planning, anticipation, and a little uncertainty from my family, I embarked on my first solo backpacking trip through a foreign country. My destination was Central America, which I spent three extraordinary weeks in. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, it not only being my first time traveling to this part of the world, but doing it alone. The entire trip exceeded my expectations and the only thing I would have changed, would have been extending the length of my stay. But since I already had a return flight home, my only other option was to start planning another trip!

This time around I wanted to go farther and stay longer and within a month of returning home from Central America, I booked a one way ticket to Bali, Indonesia with intentions of exploring as much of South East Asia as I could. I worked my butt off for 6 months straight, saved up all my pennies, did a little research, and sold off as much as I could out of my New York City apartment.

As difficult as it was to say goodbye to friends, family, and everything familiar, the excitement that comes along with exploring the unknown is an indescribable, liberating feeling that I would not trade for anything else. I have now been on the road for over eight months, with seven new countries under my belt and countless experiences, travel tips, and memories I would like to share. Please feel free to follow me along my continuous journey. Happy travels!
